TOWER'S CORNERSTONE LAID
1776-Foot Tower will be World's Tallest Building, Reclaiming New York's Skyline
This July 4th holiday saw a historic event as New York State Governor George
Pataki, New Jersey State Governor McGreevey and New York City Mayor Bloomberg
laid the cornerstone for the Freedom Tower, the 1,776 foot tall tower that will
reclaim New York's skyline, serve as an iconic element of the new World Trade
Center site and begin the rebuilding of the site.
