The Lower Manhattan Construction Command Center (LMCCC) is a division of the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation (LMDC). LMCCC was created to oversee and coordinate the on going construction taking place south of Canal Street, then-Governor George E. Pataki and Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg created the Lower Manhattan Construction Command Center (LMCCC) through joint executive orders on November 22, 2004. The executive order was reinstituted by former Governor Eliot L. Spitzer on January 2, 2007. The Command Center’s mission is to facilitate construction activities, mitigate their impacts on the community and communicate with the public about the work and its impact. Its team works with project sponsors to help streamline design and construction schedules, negotiate priorities, coordinate logistics and plan the movement of construction workers, materials and equipment to the area. |
